Bicycle Mechanics - Need help with flat
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm new with bikes and i don't know how to fix the flat tire on my bike. There's no puncture, but I don't know where to pump the air, or how to use the valve, or what kind of valve/pump to use. The bike is a Giant road bike with michelin dynamic tires. Sorry if I sound stupid, but any help would greatly be appreciated.

Given that you said you have a road bike, you almost certainly have presta valves. Don't be turned off by the length of those articles; it really is simple.

Thanks. Are presta valve pump sold in the typical sporting goods store or will I need to go to a bike shop?
I don't know for sure as I've only ever bought a pump at a bike shop. But I think that most pumps have a dual head.

You might as well go to a bike shop since you're a biker now...;o) It's nice to be known somewhere when you need something. Take the bike with you and they can tell you what size tubes you need and how much air to put in. You can buy a little patch kit while you are there and a Quikstik or tire levers, too.
You need two pumps. One floor model with a gauge to tell you how much air you've put in and a compact pump to keep with you on the bike in case you flat. Both should have dual heads for presta or shrader type valves.

Tires can be moody. I can be lazy, I use CO2, and I have carried the same spare tube for 2 years now.
