Hi All,

I'm looking for someone to ride with after work on weekdays. Anyone available for a quick ride around Valley Circle? Maybe we can plot a ride on RouteSlip.com.

A ride that can be completed before sundown. 20-30 miles???

Thanks.

What time would you plan on starting this ride? If it doesn't start too late, I'd be up for it (at least twice a week), and I already have a few routes (one 20 miler and two 30 milers) mapped out on routeslip.com

Feel free to browse my other routes if you want some ideas.

I'm down on all Fridays and before classses start up again next week during the week after work.

I'm also going to be doing repeats like mon or wed so if you want to go up reseda a couple of times with me just PM me.

Anyways, I'll be riding Friday. Let me know, I leave my house riding at approximately 6:00pm.

In my back home from work route (Calabasas to Encino) I am taking Wells and going up Reseda. I am usually doing it 3 times a week (Mon, Tue, Wed or Mon, Wed, Thu)
I am at Reseda & Wells (Actually Reseda at that point name 'Mecca') at about 5:15PM. Not sure about 'repeats' because after one climb I am done. But, I want to try to do some type of intervals using this hill.

This route looks a lot like my lunch time ride. I work at Platt and Cohasset and one of my workouts is Woodlake, Roscoe, Fallbrook, Ventura Blvd (well, the street before), Valley Circle, Roscoe, Woodlake.

My other route goes up VC and around to Topanga. Each one is about 14-1/2 miles which gives me enough time to shower and eat when I'm done.

I'm not up for a lot of climbing at the moment due to my knee giving me some problems recently.

On a slightly related topic, why doesn't anybody else cite turns in their routeslip routes? I just click on any way point that happens to be a turn, type in the name of the street, then I can print out a route slip (hence the site's name) to clip onto my handlebars for the ride.

Victory Blvd? Never been that way, usually turn off on Valley Circle.

I'm down personally. I am finishing up finals tommorow so I'll be free after work,
I'll pm you my cell on Friday when I have some time.

Come on urbanknight, I've ridden with you...You weigh like 30 lbs less than me, I'm sure you'll do fine on the climbs.

That was before I tried to climb 50+ miles all over the Santa Monica mountains with only a 39/23. Now I have an ITB problem that needs some time to recover.

Screw the cleats, I went and got Speedplay pedals. It's doing better, but I don't want to screw it up.

I hear ya, whats your lowest gearing?

I can make about 50% of the climb in 42/21 before I have to drop to the triple.

Oh, I have a 34/29 now. I'll be able to get up Reseda with that gear no problem. I live near there, so maybe I'll join you next week on Monday if I can get this other stuff done on time. It's time to plan my budget spending for next year, and they want some extra paperwork before I can spend this new grant.
