Road Cycling - Strange?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is it just me or does something look strange about this new 2004 Merlin?

the dropped top-tube....
Triple chainring. Always looks funny on a roadie.

Seat post has no offset and bikes looks whimpy with a triple.......also the tall head tube looks funny on a small frame. This bike is setup for a short person like me......

I was about to mention that the sloping top-tube and offset seatstay/seat-tube intersection reminded me of some of the Ironhorse MTB frames. So I would have to say that the skinny tires and dropbars look a bit odd. :D

It looks like they tried to hide the nipples behind the fork and seat stays.

When the picture was taken it was probably done intentionally to show the slickness. You still can se the nipple to the rite of seat stay. The front tire nipple is behind the fork. Take a look at the top; you still can see the part of the cap.

Is there a right answer? Is this some kind of puzzle? I can't stand the suspense!
The left chainstay looks a little odd but that's likely just the camera angle.

It appears that the drive side seat stay is broken.
Looks like a compact frame with large wheels.
Maybe it's a women's bike with 700 wheels rather than 650 like some have.
I meant to say I have no nipples.

Well no wonder that bike looks strange to you!
well yes, its a Merlin. :D
If it were a Serotta Legend Ti it would not look
strange at all.
Ask SteveE, he will agree with me.

Those aren't carbon seat stays are they?
The seat stays were really what I was looking at. If they are carbon they sure look different.
