View Full Version : DFW Bicycle Paint Shop?

Does anyone know of a shop in the DFW area that will paint a bicycle frame?

Last year, I stripped, sanded and rattle-can painted my bike. I gave it a coat of clear, auto wheel protectant, but it never was as glossy as I would have liked.
A year later, I'm finding that the paint's durability is less than optimal.

I'm willing to dissemble the bike and strip the old paint, but I need a professional to do the painting for me.

Thanks.

There is a powder coating place in Haltom City that quoted me $100 to strip and powdercoat a frame and fork. You have to take it apart yourself though.

what about decal removal? it isn't under the clearcoat, but the lettering is raised and I'm afraid I'll take off the paint underneath.

Search C&V for 'decal removal' and see what threads come up. There have been a few threads about this in there that I can remember.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know we had a frame builder in town. (I might even start talking my wife up about me "needing" a new bike.)

I just emailed David. I'll let you know what I find out.

I told him that I had heard about him on BF and he mentioned you and Lotek in his reply. Now I have to figure out when I can run the bike over to him for an estimate.

Thanks again.
