Then you gotta go to Buca di Beppo. Yesterday I got a large spaghetti with meat sauce. $16.99 and I'm still eating it today. :D

I'm usually not big on chain restaurants. But Buca is a big exception for one reason: they have the best margherita pizza! I was totally shocked. Very thin, not-quite-cracker-like crust (just how I like it). Real and fresh buffalo mozzarella. Just a light coating of sauce -- again, fresh and simple (basically just tomatoes and garlic from what I can tell). And some fresh basil. The stuff is heaven. And WAY healthier than nearly any other pizza.
Yeah I've had better food. But this is a lot of food. Fills a void, literally. :D

Yea, I didn't mean to discount the quality of their other food. Everything I've had their is better than most other Italian chains. I especially like the apple gorgonzola salad and the (new) shrimp fra diavolo. And, as you say, you can't beat the portions. ;)
I like the layout in that place. Haven't been to one in 1.5+year, but it was good. Some salad they had was delicious.
Does anyone live in North Hollywood? We used to go to a place called Little Toni's. I swear the single serving pasta there was at least the size of the large at Buca. I used to get spaghetti with garlic. It must have been at least a pound of dry spaghetti.

The food is acceptable, but not great. But then again I am Italian and have been to Italy twice, so my standards for REAL italian food is pretty high. I guess, when I go out to eat I expect good food not just a giant vat of food. And if all you care about is quantity, for $16.99 you could make 11 pounds of pasta. That is hardly a bargain to pay close to $20 for a plate of okay spaghetti.

That's exactly what I was thinking!
Yesterday I went to On The Border and had the fish tacos. I am still feeling them today too.
