I wanted to switch to a riser bar. My stock stem is a Titec Fast Al. My stock bars were Titec Hellbent. I recently installed a set of Easton EA70 monkey bars. After tightening the stem to what seems a good amount (I dont have a torque wrench) there is a gap inbetween the two pieces of the stem that hold the handelbars. With my stock bars these pieces were flush. The gap is on the top and bottom big enought to fit a nickel in sideways. It seems as if the Easton bars are too big for my stem. Is this something that should concern me or is it safe to ride? I figured the bars would be the same diameter but apparently that is not the case. Thanks.

BTW if it matters the bike is this years yeti fro.

It's fine. I would be more worried if they met. Then you couldn't tell if it was tight enough.

Ditto. I usually have at least the thickness of a nickle all the way around. Just be sure the gap is the same top and bottom and side to side.

Oops, guess I have to realign that h-bar clamp :)
