How is this route?

Hi.
For people who live in OC how bad is this route?

sure but you could could go Findlay to PCH to Newport Coast to Bonita Canyon to Anteater to Peltason to get in some hills because the MacArthur route is pretty flat and get another 2 miles... one hill from PCH and Bayside to Jamboree and then a gradual hill up MacArthur...

Instead of MacArthur, take the back bay trail - from PCH, go left on N. Bayside, and the trail will be on your right. When you get to a street, take a left and follow it into the Back Bay. Almost zero traffic, better scenery.

I would also consider the Back Bay instead of MacArthur. Is there a specific goal for this ride? If you wanted, you could do almost the whole thing on the Back Bay/San Diego Creek trails. If you're looking for a couple of hills, Extort's suggestions are good ones.

Ah. A route through the Back Bay would be a great commute...plus you have many options from there for after work rides.
