Hello. I've been lurking around the forums the past few days...

When I was young (elementary and middle school aged), I rode my bike almost everywhere. After I got into high school, I fell away from the hobby as I spent more time skateboarding and roller blading.

I still have a cheap-o mountain bike, a Murray from Wal-Mart or some such deal... I ride it in a recreational fashion with some friends. Recently, I've decided I'd like to get in better shape and I found a great deal on a Fuji road bike through a friend. I'll be picking up the bike this weekend.

I've already learned a lot by doing some light reading here... looking forward to keep expanding my knowledge. Hopefully I'll be able to find some good local spots for riding, learn some good maintenance tips and improve as a cyclist.

Fuji road bike? Would that be a vintage Fuji? Photos?

There are a LOT of members in PA, and many of them hang out in the Classic & Vintage forum. Other PAers can be found in the Northeast regional forum.

Welcome to BF!

I'm not sure which model the bike is, or how old it is either... I just know it is in good mechanical shape and it is going to be cheap. I'll have photos some time this weekend or early next week. I'm getting the bike through a friend at work; his father gets bikes that are broken or no longer used and fixes them up as a hobby. Works out as a pretty good deal for me :)

Thanks for the welcome, and I'll be sure to post up pictures as soon as I get the bike.

Excellent! One clue if it's an older bike--it will have friction shifters, instead of modern 'brifters'. It sounds as if it could be an older bike...
