I will be cycling in the Alps in 2 weeks from now. I'll need to change my 10 speed gears to more Alp-friendly ratios.( Currently I am using 12-22) Is it possible to change individual gears on a Campy Record 10 speed, or do I need to change the whole kassette?
Your advice is most welcome

Change the cassette and chain. You might want to try a Wipperman chain and/or a wipperman conneX link connector (www.connexchain.com). Campy is a little uptight about breaking there chain.
The Campy web site doesn't list individual cogs,
however I'm guessing if you can get the cogs you can
custom build your own range.
The only question would be can your RD handle the
number of cogs.
The Record 10 will handle a 27 tooth max on standard cage.
Medium cage will handle 36 and long cage a 39.

Campys technical instructions say not to mix the sprockets. http://www.campagnolo.com/pdf/196-Pignoni%2010Speed.pdf
I wonder if this is more of an issue of shifting
performance than it won't work?
Rather limiting if you ask me.
I'm strongly resisting going into full blown
retrogrouch mode with accompanying rant.

It has to do with the indexing of the cutaways on the teeth that assist in shifting.
I used an 8 speed casstte that was a mixture of Exadrive and flat cogs. It worked fine.
