I'm looking for a cycling rain jacket with long sleeves and torso. Something with long sleeves and longer back with a more tailored/slim cut would be awesome. I'm fairly skinny, and I have a LLBean one at the moment that leaves my wrists and part of a longsleeve shirt soaked, but the next size up flaps around and is almost more annoying than the rain. I've sewn cuffs onto other jackets before for the same reason, but they gotta make something that fits right, right?
Any suggestions? Thanks.

One of our Clydes found this, I think it was JaxGTR? I can't remember, but they did a custom sizing IIRC.
Yes I did and they will customize a jacket for you. You tell them exactly how long or short you want each detail. I was real happy with what I ordered.

Will they custom jackets beyond xxl?
Will they custom jackets beyond xxl?
Jumbo, my friend, it's easy to get caught up in a spending spree on bike gear. When I was a raw beginner, as opposed to the more polished beginner I am now, my local bike shop refused to sell me gear I didn't need. They told me "the bike comes first."
Jumbo, you don't even have your bike yet. You don't even know if you will like riding, let alone riding in the rain. Let the bike come first. And perhaps one day you'll get a rain jacket, when you need one.

Yes they will. At the time I ordered my jacket, my chest size was 58, I think is well above a 2XL. They have a small up-charge, mine was $15.00 on the jacket, but the polar fleece long sleeve jersey I order did not have a price difference. It was that the cost as the regular sized jerseys.

I agree with this. Wait until you figure out your riding habits as you might find riding in the rain a drag and how many times will you really get caught in the rain?? I live in Florida and have only been caught in the rain about 5 times out of my 175 rides over the last year. It was always in the summer so it was actually a welcomed relief from the heat.

Good advice, and trust me, mrs. Jumbo holds the money. It is just so hard to find anything that fits me that when I hear about these places I store them up for the future. Like the bibs from Aero. I have not purchased them yet, but I have the site bookmarked and the recomendations stored.
So please don't think that I run out and purchase everything that I ask about post haste.
I know I will need the bibs and rain gear in the future. I know that I will want clipless pedals and shoes in the future. All I care about having at the moment is my bike, a helmet, bike repair stand, basic tools, tire repair, and a bag for commuting.
All I have right now is the ability to talk and plan. Once the bike is here you will hear less from me, I promise.
As we are on this subject. I probably will not be commuting until late July or early Aug. I know that I need to build up a bit to it, and find my line again.

Again, I don't think you NEED the rain gear. Shorts are probably a good idea if you are riding more than a few miles.
Also, remember you don't want to build a wardrobe around the Clyde you are now, but the JumboShrimpRider you will become. I've lost 16 inches off my waist since I was 385; it will happen to you as well.

NOOOOOOOO! NO NO NO a thousand times NO! We WANT to hear more from you, brother Clyde. We want to read about your bike rides, and your bike, your ups, and your not so ups. Unless writing about them takes time away from riding, of course.

LOL, of course I will still post, but I will also be riding. Right now my rides consist only of reading the posts.
As for the rain gear, we get rain hear in the big Mo. quite a lot of the time. My commute will be roughly 10 miles or so each way and I will need some rain gear. I just won't need it until I am truly commuting all the time.

Good thread....I am needing to get a rain jacket (just moved to Seattle area)....this looks like exactly what I was looking for. The fact they will upsize and custom size makes it even better!!! I think I'll be ordering one soon. :)

For the record, I ended up going with this jacket instead.

After some private discussions with jaxgtr, I though his jacket would be too heavy...at least until winterish time. I may still get it later in the year.
