You just have to keep looking on craigslist and ebay as well as garage sales and the like and be ready to buy it when you see it. They aren't always around so when you see one at a decent price, pull the trigger.

I had an add in a western Canadian local paper for 70's and 80's road bikes for a reunion ride this summer.
And this one turned up for $30.

I agree with Juan162. The bikes are out there. I found mine the same way which was by browsing through e-bay. Saw it with a "buy-it-now" option so I went for it. Turned out to be in very good condition. The Raleigh Twenty is a keeper right along with my Raleigh Sports. Am waiting for my newly purchased Raleigh Clubman to arrive which I also found by browsing e-bay. Good luck and happy hunting.

FWIW the idea behind the Raleigh 20 is
1) you buy it real cheap as a folding frame and fit it out with a top notch parts package. The legend of the 20 is mostly because of the work these people put into building a really nice bike. It may not be worth the effort for you, only you can tell.
2) you buy it because you want a vintage bike. Vintage bikes are a matter of personal preference.
I would say between CL ebay and bike shops in the NYC area I see about 5 a year for sale.

There are 3 on EBay right now. One closing in about 4 hours, 2 just listed from Canada.

Alternatively - come to england with a big empty suitcase and a few spanners - there are about 5 a week or more on UK ebay or craiglist etc listings and often sell for a song. So get one and fly home with case full of bikeparts; you can toss the bits you don't need and save on excess baggage. Only thing different about UK twenties are the 451 sized 20" wheels as apposed to 406 on North American examples.
