Westchester Medical Center Biathlon?

Has anyone here ever done the Westchester Medical Center Biathlon (http://www.nytc.org/dbacceptance.cfm?ID=2) before? I'm doing it as a relay team and i'm concerned about some of the logistics - mainly, does my bike need to be on the rack in the transition area while the runner is out, or can i put it there last minute and use it to warm up?

I'm concerned I may have to borrow a 2nd bike to use for warmup, or figure out some other way...

I did last year on a coed relay team. You can warm up on a trainer, in the transition area, while your runner is out. I protested to the organizer last year about a guy warming up in the parking lot and the organizer looked at me as if I had two heads (he's a real pr*ck). There was also a guy warming up on a trainer in the transition area as well - officials did not care. Having said this, I'm not 100% sure what it will be like this year. Bring a trainer and ask if you can warm up in the transition area. Every duathalon I've been in, the bikes had to be on the rack before the race and can't be touched; however, this was not the case in this race. Get a good warm up. The back stretch is all up hill and will be a great place to pass others. Best of luck. Hope this helps.

Thanks! great info. I've ridden the course a couple of times for practice so I'm familiar with the hill at the end of the loop...unfortunately I suck on hills, but I've been working on it ;)

No, I won't be racing this one. I couldn't get a relay team and I'm away for the weekend. Best of luck. Again, just double check with the official about warming up in the tran. zone. Have fun.
