There is an amazing deal on a 2002 Masi Gran Corsa at a local bike shop that I have been thinking about for some time. Anyone have any comments/opinions/remarks or anything about this company?

Thanks as always!

They seem ok. The Diet Rite team uses Masi and Tina Mayolo-Pic has had some good victories riding one- so that at least tells you they are well built frames that get the job done.

If a Masi is good enough for Dave Stohler... than it is good enough for me ! Watch out for those bastard Cinzano riders though.. they'll throw a pump in yer spokes !

Jeff :-)

Hi BB,
the 'pump in the spokes' comment is from an old movie called Breaking Away. I personally have not tried the new Masi bikes. But my LBS carries them, and he is very fussy about the brands he carries. I also like the looks of th that bike. Try a few bikes, keep in mind that a steel frame will last decades instead of years......and pick the ride you love. Kind of fun walking into a bike shop and saying 'I'll be back in a couple of hours'

Take note they are not the same as the Masi frames from a few years back.

Schwinn bought the name a while back.

I have a 2002 Masi vincere and I'm 99% happy. Everything about it is completely great however on the pre-2003 models the shift and brake cables go into the little housings right at the head tube and if you turn the bars to far the front brake arm(where you adjust the brakes) will bend the cable housing so it breaks .... otherwise it's a great bike.. I though Haro owned Masi...

Well, thanks for all of your comments on Masi and Breaking Away. I put a hold deposit on the bike yesterday and I should pick it up today or tomorrow. I am completely excited about the new addition to the family. Even though it is distributed and/or owned by Haro it is an exceptional bike. Thanks again guys!
