...do I want to be?
I'm 6'1" and I fluctuate between 195 - 205 lbs
I ride a 56cm frame
Wear a size 13 shoe
I feel lost in a limbo of totally average!

Sometimes you are and sometimes you aren't. Clyde is 200 pounds and over. Don't think of yourself as totally average. You are the top end of the regular cyclist or the bottom end of us clydes.

a bit of limbo can go a long way... too small for clydes, to big for normies ;)
Thanks :D

do you want to be what ?.. looking in on what is argueably the best forum in the forums.. ? why not ? as for being a Clyde, you are perilously close to losing your Clyde status though.. I'll allow it. Hey, you SURE that bikes big enough ? Shootin' form the hip, I'd have you on a 57/58 and THAT'S low and racey. In case you're really new.. WELCOME to the forums !!

Clydesdale isn't just a weight class, it's also a state of mind.

I'm currently 205. I've been down to 198 for brief periods, hope to get lower still soon. Historian is right, it's a state of mind. I'm comfortable with how I look, losing the weight is mostly for health reasons. (Hoookay, that's a lie, but it's a good fiction for me to believe in...)

For the record, NJ Neil doesn't look like a clyde. :-)
Save all the worry - go buy yourself a bag of donuts and enjoy the company :D

hey, thanks all for your great responses. I am proud of my occasional clyde status (usually the spring-time ;) )

I would think it depends if you race or not. If you race you may want to be a clyde to get an edge up on the field, or not a clyde if the regular field is a better place of competition for you.

I haven't seen the underside of 200 in a decade, and was 219 last year.
But have been on a mission to lose the weight for a variety of reasons. and it's been working.
I'd say you could have my spot on the Clyde roster if I fall off ... but I've been haulin my 215 carcazz up those hills for too long in the company of speedylittle sprites to give you my Clyde card that quickly.
I'm hovering at 202, and might breakthrough the plexiglass floor, that is, if I can stay satisfied with eating more lettuce.
On second thoughts, nawww, that ain't gonna happen. ;-)

Does your stuff break all the time? If it does, you may be a Clyde!

Yes, too late. Once you start blogging there's no deflating you.
