As much as everyone likes riding the roads up to and around Baldy Village (GMR,GRR, Mt Baldy Rd. to the lifts), if you have the time on June 23rd, why not help the local fire department. Hopefully none of us riders will ever need their assistance, but seeing how they are an all volunteer unit that gets no government help(tax dollars), they sure could use our help. For $20 you get an afternoon in the mountains, a steak dinner, and a good feeling from knowing you are helping an organization that provides a very useful service when it is needed. Heaven forbid anyone should ever go down while riding up there, but if you do, these are the guys that will come first to your aid.

P. S. I have no connection to Baldy Village or the Fire Department other than being someone that has loved the local mountains for almost 40 years now. I have ridden my bikes to the lifts a few times and spent the night on top of the peak more times than I can remember. They could use our help.
Thanks for consiidering helping out.

Mr.Beanz, you and the wife going to make it?

Ya, I guess that is as good of a reason as any. No one called, no one came. Makes sense to me.
You should be able to do better than that Fred.

Looks fun! Too bad I've signed up for Grand Tour already, otherwise it would've been a nice ride up, have an early dinner, then ride down. :p

Yeah, you're right Hillbilly!:D I just got back from all that climbing and my head is still swollen!:p

Actually that is a good idea with all the riding 'WE' do up there. I really don't know anything about the fire dept or how they are funded but does actually seem like a good idea to help out. With all the rides we do up there, maybe we should all go eat some meat. Not sure if I can get Gina to go but I will. I think about all the years I've been riding up there and heck, why not? $20 seems like a small price to pay!:D

I never even knew they had events like this. This is the first I've ever heard of it!

Hey maybe we should all plan a lil get together...who's willing?

Remember, you guys love the mtn rides!:D

Holy cow Davesan. I didn't think of the ride up and a meal. Great idea! We can make a ride of it. Heck, me and Hillbasher riding up Baldy Rd. for some steak, I like it!:D

NaaH! We didn't call the FD. Ronjon took his spill like a man. I did use my gloves to sweep some of the sand off the line for the following riders. One guy went as far as to massage Ronjon's legs for him. I don't think I was s'posed to mention that part. What happens on the mtn stays on the mtn!:D

So I guess we can count in you for the 'Mt Baldy Rd SteakFry' ride? I believe Hillbasher is pacing us up the Rd!;)
