This morning i woke up with the intention of doing a metric century for the first time, my friend and had planned an out and back route in an area that we'd never been. The first problem came when i called my friend at 7 (the time he was supposed to be at my house) and woke him up. But we got off at a respectable 7:45. My friend and i are subconciously competative and realy had to work to keep the pace down. About 40 kilometers in we ran into 2 cyclists that Bantam (my friend) knew, and rode with them for a while. We were feeling pretty good so we decided, hey, lets do an imperial century, we dont have anywhere to be. At about 45 miles we decided we would turn around and finish the century around our houses, so that we could be sure to get into town. The hills on the way back were brutal and im realy glad we didnt go the extra 5 miles before turning around. About halfway home, it started to rain, which didnt realy bother us. We got back to my house and got some more food with about 8 miles to go, 10 minutes later we were back on the bikes doing a loop around my neighborhood, we had been riding in my neighborhood for about 3 miles when Bantam got a flat. At this point we were soaked to the bone. So we changed the flat and when it came time to get back on the bikes, we both were freezing cold and looked at eachother and said, lets just quit, so we made a b line back to my house. All in all we rode 96 miles pretty good for a metric ehh?
