For the first time, I rode the Albuquerque Century today. 106.73 miles. Seemed like most of it was up. I also seemed a lot harder than the Tour de Tucson last year - 109 miles. I'm exhausted and cramping.

Well done!
I hear that beer is good for cramping...no, wait, it's another b-word...it'll come to me...
Meanwhile, drink beer & congrats on your success! Hope you feel better soon!
congrats on the century. Pie is a good recovery food, however, I can't think of any beer that would go well with pie.
Excellent! It was a warm day for you based on the weather I just looked at. I took a look at the route sheet and recognized a lot of the roads from my wife and my trip out there last summer. I stopped and took a picture of some cyclists riding up the Tramway road and noticed that you would have climbed that road as well on the que sheet.
Well done!!

Well, that would depend on if the pie was pizza, in which case, just about any beer goes with that! And congrats, abqhudson- a wonderful accomplishment!
Jim, you really make me feel bad now. I thought I was doing something at 67 (well almost) going 50 miles. Oh well, back to work tomorrow. All kidding aside, that was a great ride, congradulations, and have some pie on me.

You have got it wrong- Beer doesn't go with Pie but Pie goes with anything.
Well done on the ride- but cool the legs down over the next few days by only doing a metric as a recovery ride.

Ok, now that I feel a little better - the gory details. Not pretty.
By my bike computer - riding time for the Albuquerque Century was 7 hrs 23 minutes - average speed was 14.4 mph. The long climb up Tramway Blvd came after about 85 miles - 6.7 miles up. I didn't get an accurate time, but the climb must have taken me more than 1 hour.
Didn't have pie, but, I did have one beer to assist in my recovery - think I'll take a couple of days off.
Thanks for the kind words.
Jim
That's a very impressive ride.

I should say! 14.4 avg is great even on the level. Have another beer on us, abq!
