I've been googlin like crazy for a good friend who's bosses company is tanking. Evidently the format of the boss is to cut hours of a bunch of part time employees vs firing them in hopes of not paying unemployment?
Does anyone know if this is legal and what minimum hours are? Is there a definition of "part time"? Sounds whacked to me if someone can cut someone's hours to a couple a week to get them to quit without some kind of income like unemployment.
Can someone quit and still file?
Sounds stressful, darn glad I've not had to deal with it but my buddy is sure wiggin out. Thanks in advance for advice.
