The kit is $400 for the back wheel setup, and the front ski is $195 (if you buy direct). Their site indicates they may be sold cheaper from the authorized dealers. You just pop off the back wheel and pop on the whole rear unit; same for the front wheel/ski. This WILL be my winter purchase if the test ride goes well this fall. In a place with snow 8 months a year, how could I go wrong with something like this (if it works like it looks it might)? At the price, it's probably worth just buying the thing over trying to work out the engineering yourself. Of course, could be a fun challenge if you're a tinkerer...

From the link-

Snow is good, Ocean is bad, Mud is good, Flames are bad.

Who rides their bike into the ocean or open flames?

Actually as kids we would steal 15 feet of rope and a bouy, tie said equipment to our bike and ride the whole mess off the wharf into 12 feet of water. If you could hold on to your bike when it hit the bottom you could ride insane wheelies. Then surface, find your bouy and haul the bike out of the water. All in all a bad idea.

I've never tried fire though.
