I work in Plant City so I could be up for this. I'm pretty new to road biking though so not too familiar with the whole group ride etiquette thing I hear so much about.

I'll know tommorow whether or not I'm up for it, I've been hitting the MTB pretty hard this week and planning to go again tonight so if I'm not a total wreck I'll bring the bike to work tommorow.

Hmm, not sure I can even spell etiquette! I usually ride solo myself, so don't worry about that. We'll just ride and leave the etiquette to Emily Post!! :)

Yeah, I figured it was more of a laid back ride but didn't want to show up unprepared and find out it's stage 1 of the Tour de Polk City. Reading through some of the stories in the road section of this forum can be a bit intimidating for a newb, I'm used to riding with buddies where etiquette says that the first person to eat it buys the others a beer. I'll see how I'm feeling tommorow.

I would sure like to go, but I won't get off work in Winter Haven until 5:00, and can't be sure that I won't have to work late. Maybe next time.

I'm out for today, had a pretty good crash yesterday and bruised up my leg. I'm up for this anyday next week though except Thurs & Friday; Sundays are usually also ok.

We had a good ride today.. I wish more people could of made it out. Put in a nice 31 miles.

If anybody wants to head out there on a weekday I can meet after work. Could probably be out there by 5.30-6.00. Tues & Thurs I'm usually at Alafia on the MTB but Mon., Weds. & possibly Fridays work pretty well.

weather.com puts it at ~50% chance around 6pm. I'm planning on bringing the bike to work no matter what but if it looks nasty around 5 I'll probably head home, a steel bike on an open road doesn't sound like a good place to be during a thunderstorm in the lightning capitol of the country :( .

I'll usually ride if it's not raining when I start. Lightning is a different matter though.:eek:

The wife and I rode in the rain yesterday. Then it started to lightning, so we started heading back to the house.. I like riding in the rain.

Doesn't look too bad, I've been watching the weather radar all day. Lots of little blobs moving in off the coast but they seem to be breaking up pretty well inland. I'll be driving a siver & blue Honda Element. I'll PM both of you guys with my cell # in case anything comes up.

Yeah, we did about 22 miles. We went up the VF to a cross road right before Green Pond Rd, then took it out to Green Pond, then back to the trail, and back to the parking lot. Good ride!
