Is there any other choice than sunblock? I don't like the feeling of sunblock (greasy and oily). And most long sleeve jersey's I've seen are to warm. I've heard of sleve only protection that's light wieght.

Anyone?

I like the new sport spray sunblocks. I find them neither greasy or oily, and they stay on real good. The last place I want sunblock when riding is in my eyes or on my hands. I've had real luck with the spray stuff.

There are sunscreen's that are not greasy and oily. This short of long sleves is my reccomendation.

Try Bullfrog Gel not greasy or oily after applying,
and its SPF36 (I seem to recall).

Look specifically for sport sunscreen. It doesnt run. Also, you dont really need to put sunscreen on your forehead because the helmet will be shading it most of the time. That way the only thing running into your eyes (possibly) will be sweat.

Unless you are a tri/duathlete, and bald.

I use Banana Boat sport, SPF 50, and I'm very pleased with it.

I usually wear a long sleeve Coolmax running shirt under my jersey. Or I use Bullfrog spf 45. That isn't too greasy, and it is waterproof. Both work well.

Banana Boat Ultra. It isn't particularly greasy, and it protects me from the Queensland sun (where even my black friends are at risk of being sunburned!), so it must be good!

I have spent some time near ChrisL's location, and I second his recommendation - I am fair-skinned and burn very easily. I was raised on the Sunshine Coast, lived in Townsville for two years (tropics) and have spent time in Darwin as well. Both the Banana Boat Ultra and Sports have worked very well for me. Most others either melt off, or are ineffective. I also try to wear long sleeves wherever possible (although don't yet have long-sleeved cycling jersey - on the very long list of stuff to buy).
