I am having trouble finding a chain ring larger than a 53. I've seen high 50s and even a 61 before. Where can you find high numbered chain rings? Thanks.

TA still makes them up to 60, I believe. Whether they make any that will fit your particular crank is a good question.

Have a look on recumbent websites, they use really big rings sometimes.

I rode kilo on a bike with 24" front and back, and was also using gears in the range of 96" to 104". This meant chainrings in the 60 tooth neighborhood, even with smallish cogs.
I also played at motorpace racing, though it was a nearly dead game by the time I got around to it. Regardless, huge rings are/were the norm there, often made by TA, and occasionally custom made.
John Waite, BTW, is/was a frame builder in Apple Valley, California who also made cogs and chainrings. The rate for rings was a very reasonable doller per tooth, though this was more than a decade ago, and even if he can still be talked into making them, the price has undoubtedly gone up. I mention it mostly because if you really want a huge chainring, the local CNC guy could probably be talked into it, for a price.
And yeah, I still think gigantic rings are cool looking. I regret having sold those old kilo bikes. They've been illegal for racing for years and are probably collecting dust in a bunch of Santa Barbara garages these days. I saw one on fixed gear gallery, along with handlebars I had custom made. Sigh.
