Great Lakes - Looking for bike store in St. Paul/Minneopolis

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In a few weeks, we will be starting a self-supported bicycle tour from St. Paul/Minneapolis. I am looking for a good LBS to ship my bicycle to, who will then unpack and assemble. Preferably not in the suburbs. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Call Jim or Kevin at Hiawatha Cycles - they would be a good bet: http://hiawathacyclery.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index
I also like Freewheel: http://freewheelbike.com/
Both of these are in Minneapolis - not the 'burbs. Both have given me good service. Good luck with your ride!
I purchased my last bike at Hiawatha cyclery and have been very happy with their service.
I would concur with Freewheel also, and add the Hub Bike Co-op (near the U of M).

Agree with above. There are several good shops within the urban core, though. Any other preferences? My side of the river has Grand Performance and County Cycles to name a few.

FYI:
If you are flying into MSP you can take the light rail from the airport to the Cedar Riverside station and walk 1.5 blocks East to Freewheel Bike.
