My family drives a Jeep Commander. It actually gets better mileage than any of the minivans we've ever owned, and yes, we need either a minivan or an SUV. It's nice to be able to pass uphill with confidence, and it's nicer inside than any van, plus it looks way better.

We get close on 20 with the Jeep on the highway. We had a Ford Freestar which was the biggest piece of **** of a new vehicle I have ever been in, aside from any Chev truck.
