Is there a "sleeping bear" that we are afraid to awaken?

Is the auto industry so powerful that it is afraid of nothing?

Who will go up against this mighty Goliath?

Will you?

The bear will awaken when global petroleum resources are exhausted.

It's not the auto industry - its all the lazy aces that can't imagine any other way of getting about. My neighbor drives the 50' to his mailbox. Doesn't even go anywhere, just pulls back into the garage!

Wouldn't he be faster to just walk?

Hi Pete,

Unfortunately I think cars are a necessary evil *stunned silence*. Me and my girlfriend are clubbing together to get our first car, but the good thing is it's only an 850cc Daewoo Matiz, which is super economic on fuel....

If the job I go for comes up, it'll mean alot of driving around Kent meeting people, which I couldn't do in the same time on a bike.

I don't mean for this to sound like an excuse as I agree that the major car players are holding the world to ransom, and that alot of car drivers have become lazy *highlighted by blwyn*...Maybe in the future, options like solar energy or other green means of fuel will come into more popular usage...
