Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Really loving my new bike but when I get up to my max speed I really feel like something is holding me back. I feel like I should be able to go faster but can't really push past the 42-45KM per hour mark. I have Campy Proton wheels, do you think they are holding me back? When I hit those speeds I relly hear a humming sound I assume it's the tires but could it be the hubs?

Your wheels are just fine.
Sustaining a pace of 45+ KMPH takes a pretty big engine. I'd suspect that is your weak link so keep training.

It's the air that's holding you back. Tuck in more.
