Saturday our early morning group went vertical. Did around 7,000 feet of climbing up to 3 summits near Mt. Rainier. 85 miles total - 1/2 of which was up and the other half down. Highlight was the 11 mile climb to Paradise - an awesome jumping off point in the Mt. Rainier National Forest. So here is a pic from the Paradise Lodge (closed right now) at 6,200 feet elevation - with Mt. Rainier in background. That is me on the far right.

Wow... your snow level is at a LOT lower altitude than ours... we went over 9,000 feet and didn't see more than a couple tiny patches of snow in the deep shadows under some trees.

That pic reminds me of some of our early season rides. Ain't it fun? :)

Mrs. Octopus and I rode to Paradise from the West gate last Labor Day weekend (and then turned around and descended). Ranks as one of my absolute favorite rides. Ever. Only bummer was getting jammed up by the cars on the way down. We wanted to descend a lot faster than many of the motorists!
