How do you manage the frequent attaching/detaching of your trailer without the use of a kickstand?
Which kickstand do you use?
Anyone using an ESGE kickstand along with a trailer? If so, is the lifting of the rear of the bike an issue when the trailer is loaded down? Does the ESGE kickstand keep the bike steady when your kids (or perhaps your dog, if you're anything like me) jump into the trailer?
I pull a burley trailer 5 days a week. I have to detach & re-attach the trailer when I get to work everyday because I have no place to store the bike with trailer attached. To make this easier I have a kickstand on my bike. It is just one of the cheap $6 kind that attaches with a single bolt squeezing two metal plates around the bottom of the frame. Sorry that I don't know the technical term for that part of the frame. Basically the bike is not designed to have a kickstand attached to it.
I find it nearly impossible to get the trailer on/off without the use of the kickstand. My concern is that the kickstand is scratching the paint off of my steel frame. I ride year round and once it starts raining again I'm gonna be paranoid about the scratched off paint allowing the frame to rust. I do have some pieces of rubber between the metal kickstand and the frame but it wears through rather quickly.

My bike is a rivendell romulus.
