I notice that you have both an 1800c and a Madone. I'd like to know the reasons you upgraded. I have a 1200c (1.5 years old) which is very much like the 1800c but this year I'm just not enjoying that bike. It seems bulky and slow to me. I'm riding my cheap ($199.00) Windsor chinese knockoff more. The only problem with that is it is a cheap aluminum frame that rattles your teeth out and 7-speed stem shifters.

So, what was your reasoning? I'm feeling kinda guilty wanting to replace the 1200c already.

Don't feel guilty but get rid of the Knockoff and keep the 1200 as the knock around bike.

The alternative would be to upgrade the 1200 with better wheels. This is what I did and it transformed the ride.

I wanted a women specific design bike with the standard frame geometry. Ok...I admit I also wanted a carbon fiber bike:o Both bikes are Ultegra outfitted so I didn't see a difference in that area. I have noticed a difference in how I can climb on both bikes. Although there isn't a big difference in weight the Madone is easier. I attribute that to the different frame configurations.

I still use the 1800C for some trail riding and have considered using it on longer tours as it has the more relaxed geometry, is very comfortable and setup to carry more than the Madone. I often use the 1800C for rides with the volunteer group as I need to carry first aid equipment, etc and to haul the grandkids in the trailer.

I agree with stapfam, don't feel guilty about wanting to upgrade:)
