Touring - From Sea to Shining Sea - a tour to support the developmentally disabled.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Xiaoyu Shi, a fellow from my school the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) is biking across the United States of America from Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia to raise funds for The Arc of the United States, which is an organization that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Xiaoyu has a blog updated with awesome pictures and stories (he is currently making his way into Montana I think):

Day 20 – Missoula, MT to Hamilton, MT (http://wearestudents.net/xiaoyu/?p=20)
I made it to Montana and I’m now officially on Mountain Time! I reached Missoula on Saturday, but I hung around for an extra rest day to get my bike serviced and to resupply before leaving today. I even stopped by the Adventure Cycling Association office, the organization I purchased my maps from, where they fed me ice cream and took my picture. Missoula is one of the largest towns I’ve passed through so far and it was great to have modern conveniences around every corner, so I felt anxious to leave before I got too spoiled.
Right now I’m just outside Hamilton at the Angler’s Roost RV Park. The weather turned downhill around afternoon and it’s raining right now. One guy, Tim, from a nearby house drove down to my site three times to give me soda and smoked fish and to offer me a spot in his living room should the rain get worse.
Tomorrow I’m headed to higher elevations and I’ve heard it might even start snowing, but we’ll see!
