I'm Mike. I'm just getting into cycling. I borrowed a bike from a friend to make sure I wanted to do it and I'm becoming more and more addicted with every ride. I'm taking my time shopping for my first bike. Probably a road bike or flat-bar road bike. I live 30 miles from work and imagine working up to riding one or both ways a couple times a week.

Anyway, thanks for this great resource.

Mike

Hello Mike, you can certainly commute that distance, although it's a fair distance :) . Where do you live?

Welcome Mike. Make sure to prowl around the commuting forum for tips on bikes, gear and dealing with the challenges of commuting. Good Luck on the bike search. Let us know if we can help in the decision.

30 miles to work is an easy ride if it is all downhill. Otherwise you might try taking bus/train/car part of the way.
