Actually I believe the only difference between the MB-1 and MB2 was that the MB-2 used double-butted tubing and the MB-2 used straight gauge. There might have been some component difference too. I think the MB-2 was DeoreDX and the MB-1 was DeoreXT or something like that. I believe the MB-1s originally sold for around $1500.

Actually, this is quite a lucky find for you. Bridgestone USA had and still has a loyal following. You can probably find some info at this site,

The MB-1 was just about the top of Bridgestone's mtb range. There was also a model called the MB-zip that was more expensive. I do believe the MB-1 was equipped with Shimano's XT components although some years may have had Suntour instead.

This is a desirable bike and much different than todays MTBs. There are people searching for just this bike. As for value, I would say to search on Ebay for Bridgestone and see what others are selling for. I want to say that I saw a MB-1 go for over $400 not too long ago but I'm not positive.

By the way, are you looking to sell or just courious as to what the bike is worth?
