My buddy and I are doing the ride this saturday. Anyone else? This is not the Apple century out of Wenatchee.

Have you folks done it before? What's the climb like?

I don't really know. The last one can't be much over 2,000 ft in 7 miles. I'm very happy the forcast is for 70 degrees and cloudy, not the 90's to 100's of last weekend.

We'll be three strong (including adamsallez from BF). I'll be the brother on the red Allez. Say hi.

That was the hardest climb of my life. I didn't have my stuff all day but soldiered on. We were 2 strong. My buddies bike is quite memorable. His has hammered fenders, is a real retro looking machine in the randoneur fashion and has a leather and canvas handlebar bag. Maybe you passed us, we sure didn't pass you. Sheer will power (and of course my awesome muscles) got me up that long, steep climb.

Hardest climb I've done by far as well. We drove straight there from Seattle at 3am so we weren't quite 100% either. Did you catch the rain on the last climb?

Oh I certainly did. I was a little paranoid about sliding out on the way down so I was on the brakes alot. I felt so sorry for the folks I passed who were on their way up. They probably had no idea what they were getting into.

I can't believe you left at 3am. That must have been awful, especially for the driver. I stayed in Chelan Fri. night.

I will definitely be sleeping in Chlean next year. I was too excited Friday night to fall asleep. One hour of sleep + 3 hr of driving + 9000 feet of climbing = yawning during the Manson climb. No good. Yeah, I caught that drizzle on the last mile of the climb and throughout the descent. Over all, excellent ride.

Man that was tough! My friend and I paced ourselves since it was his first century, and my first outside of the STP. First loop was cake. Second loop we started feeling it especially with that long climb. 3rd loop was as hard as they made it out to be. The rain and headwind on 97 leading up to the bridge were intense. The climb up McNeil canyon was stee-eep but what an amazing view and thrilling accomplishment when you reached the top. We were standing on the pedals practically the whole way up. Even with the light rain, you could see how beautiful that area is. Loop two was my favorite.
