This past weekend I rode in my 1st MS 150 on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The first day I completed the 75 mile plus the "century loop" to make it 100 miles. It took me 6hrs and 2min. The last 30 miles or so was into the wind. I didn't think that was too bad for my first time. The 2nd day a Tropical Depression came up the east coast and had lots of wind and rain. they shortened the ride to 35miles this day. I completed both days but I wished the weather cooperated enough to finish the full distance both days. In the end we all had a great time and raised alot of money for a good cause.
Congratulations! For the good charity work and completing the century.
This year will be my 12th year running the Michigan MS150. Great ride and a great organization that I'm proud to raise money for.
A few years ago, I accidentally got put on a large team. I was a little upset till I found out that they were giving me a free jersey. Since then, I've been a proud member of Team GM. The MS Society also sent me a jersey this year for being one of the top 100 fundraisers.

Congratulations! For the good charity work and completing the century. indeed.
A few years ago, I accidentally got put on a large team. I was a little upset till I found out that they were giving me a free jersey. Since then, I've been a proud member of Team GM. The MS Society also sent me a jersey this year for being one of the top 100 fundraisers. Five years ago, I did the Great Mass Getaway, an MS150 ride from Boston to Provincetown on the very tip of Cape Cod. The second day was non-stop rain and while huddling at the lunch stop, a volunteer tossed me a free jersey that's normally reserved for the top 100 fundraisers, just to use as an extra layer -- eventhough I wasn't anywhere near the top 100. That was really keen, though I still feel slightly embarassed when someone else rides by and assumes, from the jersey, that I'm some kind of super bread winner for the cause.
Glad to hear you completed the century ride. The Pittsburgh MS150 is coming up this weekend, it will be the first one I participate in as well. I hope to be able to do the century ride.......but guess I will find out in a couple of days if I make it that far or not.

Congratulations! Great job for your first time out.
I'll be doing my 4th MS 150 this weekend on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I've had some brutal experiences with this ride -- broiling heat one year, relentless winds another -- so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this year. I devoutly hope that the current forecast remains accurate, and that the 98F day will be Friday, not Saturday!
