Hello bike friends. I'm new to the forums and to biking. Just picked up a Trek 7.3fx, so far I've probably put about 20m on it, mostly around Minto Brown Island. I'm from Salem. Anyways, wondering if any of you have suggestions for fenders and racks? I'm looking at commuting once summer settles in and I'm not driving to Monmouth for school everyday.

There is a 'commuting' forum on these boards where you might get a few more suggestions. I use SKS full fenders from REI on a rain/commuter bike, but don't have a rack.

I'll second the sks full fenders. For a commuter / rain bike it doesn't make sense to use those clip on ones. Full fenders with flaps if you can.

I have SKS or Blumels fenders on some of my bikes and they are OK, I was given a takeoff Planet bike for the front when my SKS was shattered by a stick & it does the job also. I have Honjo aluminum on a couple of bikes but they were difficult to install. My favorite fender set is the Giles Berthaud Stainless Steel with a leather flap. These fenders usually run about $60.00 a set but will last a lifetime. Very straightforward installation also. Don
