Hello, I have a Specialized 2004 Sirrus Pro. This bike is pretty much road oriented but I want to take it on some moderate dirt trails. I think that if I put on some knobby cyclocross tires, I won't be skidding down the mountain like I have done before. Are there any recommendations about cyclocross tires that'll be good for this?
Anyone with this bike telling me I also need new wheels to take this on a trail?

i had the same dilemma about a month ago and found the search function very helpful ;)
for what it's worth i settled on ritchey speedmax pro's and am very happy with them both on and off road. as a bonus they're very affordable.
I run 700x35 kenda kwick rollers on my cross bike. They're great for everything - except loose/wet singletrack conditions. If you go with something knobby they'll slow you down on the road and the road will make quick work of the tread.
