But yeah, Saturday morning rides should be much easier to attend. But the guy did say they work some Saturdays. That's ok as long as it's dayshift. Just mo money for mo bikestuff!:p

Sun doesn't set til almost 8PM and comes up at 5:20am, thats enough time to get any ride in before or after a full day at work. Or in my case, between the two jobs LOL.

Yeah, my best rides are after work. I'm not an early morning. Last time I rode MTB might have been when I was on dayshift too. I 've heard daylight savings time is supposed to be extended even more in the next few years.

She did before the last ride on GMR. If she hadn't, I would have been the first to the village. OK, not really!...about the being first, but yeah, I was already lashed before the ride!:p

Many say wait for a couter offer but heck no, I'm outta here.

Correct. Even thinking about a counter offer in your situation is a bad deal. It's not always about money. I would've asked for more money, on principle, but, if you're happy with the deal, then that's all that counts. Congratulations!

YAH!!!

At first, I thought it was going to be a 'woe is me cry-fest' about how you hated your job and what you should do about it.

Nice to see you took the bull by the balls and changed your situation on your own. You've restored my faith in humanity. Now I'm off to Road Cycling, then A&S, to lose it all over again.

Congrats Beanz.

ps. The best part is that you're starting the new job at the same pay rate as the last job...raises are to be expected, right?

Congratulations! Hope to see you on more rides in the near future.

I had such an experience but more years. I found another job, not as fast as you, but for less money. The benefits were good so I took it. Today I most certainly make more money than I would have if I was working at the old place. I also like where I work. Change is unsettling and of major concern when we talk about our ability to support our family, but (my point) it can lead to bigger and better things for those who work hard and want it. Never doubt yourself. Mr. Beanz, you did not and you took steps others only contemplate.

That's right Mo and Mark! Looks like a much better set up and I'm sure I'll move up in pay. I always do, even at companies that say they don't give raises. I always seem to get e'm! I just hope this guy is into cycling!:D

Hello Mr. Beanz,

Never doubt that the job market will jump at people with superior skills. Your soon-to-be ex-boss was showing his ignorance when he said that you should feel lucky to even have a job.

Enjoy the new opportunity! :)

I'm always shocked when people say there aren't jobs out there. I feel if you know and understand what you are doing, there are plenty of employers that will take you onboard.

True, I did learn a few things there that add to my QC resume. Some of which are similar to the tasks performed at the new company but more in depth. So the new job should be cake!:D

Today (Tues) was the second day. Although it's all the same in QC, the procedures are a bit different. SO it's a bit frustrating till I get used to it. It's like starting all over. But it's cool inside and I don't get dirty. Boss is very cool and a nice guy. Right now I feel like a kid walking around sucking his thumb. Just a bit green with the company still!:D

Doesn't help that the guy training me sounds like Elmer Fudd!:p
