So how do these people get my email addy to send me stuff. I hardly ever log on to MS. Only have an acoount cause my daughters told me to sign up to view some relative profiles. WOw, my cousin in law is gorgeous on MS, but in real life....PFFFT!
Back to the question. I don't give my email to anyody. I keep Gina from entering to win the 300M at the malls. I tell her if she gives them our addy, we'll get all kinds of junk stuff. Only place I've made my addy available is on bike sites.
So I get messages from some young young chick with big KNOCKERS! More than one from the same girl. I don't have any pics or info in my profile. Since not many have my email, could this be a bike friend or relative baiting me, to see if I'm an old pervy?
Heck, if it is really some chick with big KNOCKERS, I'd rather just send some pics to my account and say,"Look at my big KNOCKERS"!:D

I'm pretty obsolete when it comes to blogs/myspace and stuff like that. Was kind of using multiply, and now started facebook. I think it's more to finding chat partners and all? Kind of reminds me of random chat when ICQ was popular.

You get the occasional spammer w/ fake account of attractive girl asking you to click on the link that leads to the site with her nudie pics . . . they try to make it sound personal and include some BS line like, "I like what I see in your profile and think we have a lot in common . . . . etc."
usually doesn't work - *or so I've heard - not like I've been tempted to click on it or anything*

I did look at her profile this time, She had friends and no links to pics. No sweet lines about liking my face. Just a request and some big KNOCKERS!:p..That's why I figure it's a friend setting me up.
nah, it's just spam. they don't need your email address to find you. they can search on any basis - your zip code, name (display name), age, sex, etc. when you got that email from them there were thousands of others that got it, too.

It's the wild world of the Internet. Myspace is one of the most widely spammed sites, and many viruses and worms have been known to spread on myspace. It's best just to stay away from myspace. It is a security hotbed for vulnerabilities.

My recommendation ... don't. It's one reason why most people want to set a rule to block myspace on their firewall rules.

Some of it is spam....but some is phishing...they are trying to get your info to hijack your MS page...and whatever other info they can gather....
hell..I even get spam on my blackberry and they address is never used and totally different than anything else I use...
