Someone recently asked the weight of a Trek T2000.

I do not find the thread... so it might have been a thread hi-jack. My boss just got a new one for himself. We are not sure if it ended up getting an 06 left over..or have they changed specs. [It does not have carbon cranks]

The bike is stock. It has the flight deck installed and 2 pair of something for spd pedals. It ways about 351/2 pounds.

glenn Ps TG.. is this one of the bikes that you say handles more like a Co-Mo. VS the Santana way? If so I am very anxious to get some time on this bike.

If it's a T2000 with the Bontrager "Satellite Plus" carbon tandem fork, then yes.

The Trek T1000s and pre-2006 T2000 models have steel forks with 55mm of fork offset/rake (Santana benchmark) whereas the carbon forks use 50mm of offset/rake (Co-Motion's steel fork benchmark).

Note: The Co-Motion models with carbon forks from Wound-Up and more recently with the True Temper AlphaQ X2s use still less offset/rake than their 50mm steel fork benchmark for even more steering trail.

Yes it is a t 2000 and it has the carbon fork. Since joining this forum [ the first of the year?] I have been intrigued with the "Co-motion" handling. [although I do not want to end up wanting a new bike yet : )]

One of the reasons I did not comtemplate a Co-motion when I made my last purchase... was the claims that they handled like single bikes. While they may handle in a more sporty way than the Santana's.. that did not sound possible. with the wheel base needed and the extra mass... there is no way. So for what seemed a false claim... so for me....anything they had to say becomes questionable. Yet as I said I am now quite intrigued with the handling.
