I have a blown up poster of merider's legs...from the Joshua Tree ride last year...(oops...did I just admit that?)
You're so sweet, John. :o I hope you're doing well. My legs aren't quite as trim as they were then. :( But I'm working on it. I rode this morning and stepped on the scale. 4 pounds lighter (okay, so WHAT if it's water weight loss! :p ). I'm getting my mojo back...:D

So you didn't have your mojo last weekend, on the Baldy climb, and you still kicked my butt! I guess it all depends on your point of view! :p

Why, yes, I am a woman. I've never met this gg person, and my visible scar is on my right ankle where I almost lost my foot at age three. It was predicted I'd never walk without a limp, let alone ride 200 miles in a day. And you?

Nope, don't recognize him and don't think I've ever met him. Does he ride a bike? It looks like he's wearing a diaper in that video, so he has the padding down, he just needs the shorts to go with it. :D

Actually, the guy who broke the record this year rode it over 90 times (94 to be exact, I think). He isn't 70 and I don't know what his legs look like. But my friend, Francis, who rode it 55 times this year has great legs...with a blurry over them since he's married. :p :D

50 was the record last year, by my father in law Doug Kubler. This year the person that "won" started really early and Doug didn't have enough time to catch up. He still did it 82 times though.

I've heard his name, Steve, and folks still talk about how well he has climbed Fargo. The strategies have definitely changed and I think the event is becomming more popular. I personally don't care who "won" (which is why I didn't go grab the guy's name from this year's posting on the Wheelman site and post it here) - I'm just amazed anyone can make it up it even once. I'd slide out and down on my stomach like a dog if I tried it. :D

It seems like everyone around there knows him! I was in the Conquer the Canyons race and Doug was on Kanan taking pictures and when we go by, the guy I was next to said "Hi Doug". :p

Mary, GG and his shadow ddave are the first ones to make my ignore list. May I suggest the same if it is causing angst.

Oh, good morning!

Good morning, Jim! :) Oh, I'm not ready to ignore them just yet, as there is no angst, just confusion. But when am I not just a little confused? It's part of my charm. :p:D

Incorrect.

Both you and GGAllin are telling inside jokes that only the two of you get. That makes no sense...to come to an established community, insult and joke on people, then snicker into your hands like a schoolgirl, makes no sense. I'm not mad, I just don't understand...I don't really think anybody but the two of you understand. It's bizaare, actually...but if that's what you were going for, well..good job, I guess.

It's not MY fault that you two are coming across as total jackasses. I'm one of the most sarcastic morons around here, but at least I'm not so obtuse in my commentary.

Anyway, welcome!

where was anyone insulted?

Mo'Phat
06-08-07, 02:36 PM
its fun playing the fool, isnt it?

For example...

The whole U Mad thing, your condescension and patronization, was insulting the intelligence of some people I consider friends. As I said, though, it was obtuse...maybe you didn't recognize that what you were doing was insulting.

Whereas I insulted your namesake by calling him a Toolbox.

ggallin
06-08-07, 02:51 PM
obviously i have thicker skin (or in the case of this forum "wear thicker spandex") because things said in jest are not insulting.

I can't say that I actually like to listen to Throbbing Gristle but I find the idea of them immensely amusing. Has to be the best band name ever, and the fact they try so hard to be grating and unlistenable is endearing in a strange way.
