MaxWay dropout, plugged into 631 steel chainstay. Same joint on the other side is totally invisible, as is the bottom 2/3 of this one. Top is clearly cracked, but looks like possibly poor finishing vs. dynamic crack? Bike is used, new to me and virtually unridden previously.

Warranty issue? Cosmetic only? Something else? Thanks for any input...

It looks to me like the brazer was a little stingy and didn't completely fill the void at the join between the dropout and the stay. I doubt if it compromises the structural integrity of the dropout, but if it were mine I'd be bothered by it.

mfg. has advised to stop riding the bike (lawyers suck). new frame already in the mail.

answer to 'where built' question: "frame is welded in Taiwan by a company that I can not disclose, but they are very reputable."

i suppose all is well.
