NEW PEDESTRIANISM

New Pedestrianism--creating COMPLETELY separate transportation grids for bikes/pedestrians and cars in new towns and neighborhoods solves most of the problems that bedevil bicyclists (and everyone else). Streets for cars go in the back of houses and businesses, while pedestrian lanes are always in front. This puts bicyclists and pedestrians first and makes beautiful communities. Sounds like what has become the new model for development along the Redneck Riviera (FL panhandle Gulf Coast) ever since the success of Seaside. It's great for bikers if you want to cruise and ride slow to go eat, etc, but to ride fast you still have to mix it up with the automobile.
