Heading out to the Apple Thursday morning. Won't be back for a week and a half.
Going back to visit Mrs Kaitai's parents and get a little slice of my own personal family history, too.
Good times Good times.
So, don't look for me, I won't be here. Probably... maybe ;) I'm sure I can get some computer time.

But, meanwhile, I got to sneak away this morning from packing and such for one last ride.
Took the Reno out for my normal -well, my old normal- Saturday ride. Back when 15 miles meant something.
Today I took a medium -for me- 17.5 mile cruise. So, 17.5 today, 13.5 off-road miles on Monday, 35 on Saturday. It's been a good week.

Today, a little climbing. A LOT of wind. And too much climbing into the wind.

When you see this, it's never a good sign.

I've done -and shot- this ride so many times, I needed a theme. Ah! The rocks off of Pedro Point. I used to rent a house with a room mate on Pedro Point. Sadly, I don't remember much of it anymore. Ah, to be young.
Three shots of the rocks. I love the 10AM light.

I found this nifty piece of -I assume- electrical tape work months ago. Didn't have my camera. it's still there. Today I do. Elsewhere in Pacifica is one taped off to look like a peace sign. Rock On!

As mentioned sometime before, there's an "easy" climb back and a harder climb back. I've been pretty much doing the harder one and today was no exception. It was windy enough today that I had to forego my snack at the beach because I was literally getting sand blasted. Man, that hurts. So, I rode on and eventually headed west to the hard climb. I got hit by a head wind that had me pedalling and not moving for a couple of seconds. That was weird. Unfortunately, the beginning -the steepest part- of the climb was right into that wind. Like it's not hard enough? Well, I was already there, was I gonna give up and quit? No way. I just kept on keeping on and kept my HR down under doctor approved limits. Finishing that climb felt GREAT.

All in all, a nice way to go out. See ya all around.

I wish you would quit doing that. I mean showing those pictures of heaven.

Pretty to look at, for sure, George but keep in mind that it stayed right between 55 and 60 with 20mph W-NW gusts. I don't know what the windchill was. And that's up in my neck of the woods, down at Pedro Point, I'll guarantee the winds were hitting closer to 30mph outof the west.

Lovely to look at but not fun. I'd do it again tomorrow :D

I guess I must be your psychic balance. I'm leaving Friday morning for Phoenix and then traveling on to California on Monday and staying for the week.

I tried to figure out how to incorporate a bicycle, but the ride from San Jose to Santa Cruz is a bit more than I am prepared for, at least with a full suitcase.

You're right, I hate it when the ocean starts slanting to the left.

I guess so, my little econon box rentals out there are barely able to get over the hills there.
