BMX - Lightest complete bmx?

Im 14 years old about 130 pounds, and i was wondering what is the best bmx i should get and what size wheels should i have on it? i was thinking 20 inches. Ill use it mostly for the street, but i might take it to the park once or twice a year. And my price range is around or under $200

The best, lightests BMX cannot even come close to $200, hell, you'll be lucky to find anything good for that. If I were you I would keep an eye on craigslist or something. 20" wheels of course, any other wheel size and it isn't a true BMX.

I never said the best bike in the world... the best bike i could get for the money.

If you really want a light bmx, see if you can find an FMF two carbon race frame and build it up with alloy components, mtb riser bars, and a road crankset and one really light brake. It'll break if you stare at it hard enough but it won't weigh much.

The only bike that is in your price range, is the poverty buck 99, and it's 199 and complete crap. Look on craigslist.

If it is your first bike ever, go ahead and buy a crap one, you'll want to upgrade it within a couple of days. If it is your first BMX bike, at least go into your LBS and watch them build it up. Knowing how to put together a bike is an excellent skill, and it can make you money, at least save it, in the long run.

Plus if you build one up from scratch you can put it together with components that you won't instantly hate and it may save you money. Plus if you put it together piece by piece it gives you a little longer to save up for it. But these days, with inflation and everything, $200 US doesn't buy you a lot of bike.

And I wasn't suggesting building up an FMF frame with your budget. It will be hard to get under 30lb with that budget, let alone something durable if you plan to ride it. (NOT suggesting a race frame. Your $200 should go to a full 4130 frame and go from there)

i think the lightest stock complete is the top KHE street bike they weigh just over 10kg. but they would be like 1200AUD

Nothing amazing for 200 bucks, but you could get the base haro backtrail x1 for 200... 14mm dropouts, a pretty beefy 3 piece crank, quality components that may not be superlight or hardcore, but you def could not piece them together for under 200... its a good buy.

Agreed. The new Haro entry level nikes are getting nicer and nicer every year. Great bikes to get people into the sport. Even the F1 and X1 series bikes have 3 piece cranks, and some chromoly in the frame now.

haro backtrail x1 or dk six pack?

The six pack is way better. But it's also more expencive. It would be a bood idea to shell out the extra and get the six pack, but if you can't afford to the backtrail would be a fine entry level complete.

but, i heard a six pack has tires on it meant for the dirt... im going to be using it on the street mostly, but there is also a gigantic dirt jump made from extra dirt from the baseball field nearby, should i keep the tires? get street tires? and should i pick up tires at the local store or buy a cheap decent pair online?

The tires are fine for any type of terrain.
