Introductions - Hi Folks! Glad to be here in the Forum

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi Everyone,

As you can see I'm new to the forum. I've been biking (the MTB variety) for about 5 years now, and this is my third year on a road bike.

I got started riding when some friends were racing mtb and bugging me to get on a bike and ride with them. I finally broke down and joined them on a borrowed bike for a day and never looked back! Those guys killed me on the trails at first, but I loved the riding. I bought that borrowed bike (an early 90's StumpJumper with solid fork! ...still got the bike) and rode it a bunch.

In the spring of 2001 my favoite bike shop had a great deal on the StumpJumper FSRs - and I had to have one. So after buying that bike, my riding time went up even more. After a while, I felt like I was burning too much gas in my car getting to the trails to ride. So I decided to build up a road bike and get in some cross-training and be able to ride out my front door. After putting together an old Bianchi basket case and riding around by myself on the road getting used to the bike, I joined a local group ride. ....I loved it! That's all there is to it. I was hooked immediately on the group dynamics, paceline, attacks, ..the whole deal.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Hopefully I'll get to know some of you other biking freaks out there!!!!

Cheers!
