Hi,
I've just bought a Simga BC 906 for my wife's Trek 1000 WSD 2007.
Have installed it identical to the instruction manual.
However I can't get the display to read the speed at all.
I.e. I lift the front wheel and spin it to get a reading and it still sits on zero.
There's an issue with the fork being too narrow which means i can't align the magnet properly on the spoke as it will bump the sensor everytime it goes past, so I've kind of angled both the magnet and sensor so they don't bump.....
Just spent 90 minutes tackling this and getting real frustrated.
Thanks in advance to those who reply.

Try moving the magnet & sensor until they are in a position where they can comfortably align with each other without bumping. The sensor is only counting revolutions of the wheel, so it isn't particular about where you mount it on the fork. You're sure you have the magnet aligned with the proper position on the sensor and you have pushed the button to turn the computer on, right (sorry, but had to ask). Also, it's possible that the battery might be bad (though I've never had one bad out of the box). Other than the above, don't know what it might be, unless the computer itself was bad (never had that happen either).
I had this same problem installing my Spz, turbo sport, even with it lined up the comp wouldn't register speed.
In the end I took it to my LBS and had them do it, 5 mins and $15 later it worked fine.

The sensor has to be much closer to the pickup than you'd probably think. Simplify things by taking it off the bike and see if you can get a reading by holding it in your hands.
Setup: computer on floor or table. Magnet in one hand, pickup in other hand. Ensure pickup is within about a foot of computer. Move magnet repeatedly past pickup. You should get a feeling for how close they should be.
Basically, the pickup has to just barely not graze the pickup when it passes by. When you get it working you'll be very surprised how slim the tolerance is. Mine frequently shifts and stops working, I just give it a nudge and it's fine.

Don't know about your particular computer, but doesn't manual say something like 1/4 inch distance magnet/sensor? That's 6-7 mm.
Also, on my el cheapo $8 Bell EzFit (6 functions!!!11111onehundredelevenandoneoneone111), there is a mount for computer on the dropbars, and contact mount/computer is bad, I have to hold down computer with a rubber band...

NOW I'm upset! I paid $11 for mine ON SALE!
6 functions? I think 2 of them are OFF & ON:)
Anyway, the instructions say 1/6" or 4mm.
It does work "flawless". (for what it does)

Just slide the sensor up the fork! The spokes taper away from the fork, more than the fork tapers toward the spokes.

Mine displayed everything but mph. Tried your suggestion, and now my first ever bicycle computer (a Bell) displays mph reading (or at least indoors in the "lift front wheel and spin" mode.
Thank You.

You can rotate the magnet all the way around the spoke. The technical part is the height and that is only second to the distance from the pickup. Put the magnet on a spoke, move it aound the spoke until it passes verry close to the pickup. Then move it up or down until the pickup senses it by spinning the wheel.

I looked through the manual and it doesn't have the power magnet so the gap has to be pretty close. The manual shows having the sensor and the magnet towards the rim but it doesn't have to go there. If you need to move it and the magnet towards the hub then that's okay. You should be able to gain some room by moving to down.
