Fifty Plus (50+) - What I'll be thinking about on today's ride

My oldest (of two) daughters graduates tomorrow from high school. She just stopped by in the midst of a bunch of errands and things to get done (nails, hair, etc.) and I convinced her to let me take a few shots in her cap and gown BEFORE the ceremony tomorrow morning. After getting a bunch of the standard shots, she hammed it up and I got lucky with this shot.

I'm so proud of her! Gives me lots to feel grateful about out there on my bike in a few minutes...

Hey DG good thing you bought that bike when you did, college is next, but that doesn't cost to much anymore. Congradulations.

I think you'd be surprised at how many older parents there are these days. My son is 16 and I'll be 53 next week. My wife is a few years older and her parents were in their 80s when their first and only grandchild was born.

I see lots of grey hair at high school band concerts and they're not grandparents. :)

DG - Congratulations. I hope to be in the same boat next year but since my oldest is also my youngest, it will be a bigger transition for me.

Cool !! My youngest daughter's commencement is next Saturday.

Way to go. I went through two this past weekend. My daughter on Saturday in Illinios, and my stepdaughter on Sunday in St. Joseph. You have a lot to be proud of.

I get the thrill of oldest child graduating next year. That is oldest of 2nd marriage. Gosh, hard to believe my oldest step-son graduated 19 years ago. Do ya ever feel older than dirt on some occasions?

One of my granddaughters graduated high school Memorial Day weekend. It doesn't seem possible that the girls are old enough to be out of high school:(

Remember the first time that you held her,how small,beautiful and precious she was.Well,she is just a little bigger now. Congratulations on helping to raise her to the young lady she is today but I must say it looks like she didn't get her looks from her father,luckily. :lol:

Its occasions like this that you apreciate all the hardships the little dears have caused you over the years. Then to get a photo like this- gives you something to remember that is priceless. Well done on raising the Pension fund (Your Daughter) to a near viable conclusion- but time for pics of the Roubaix hamming it up sometime.

Congratulations to you and the graduate DG. Her expression looked like mine when I got out of school (boot camp) too.

Well done, nice composition, the red accents are perfect......and congratulations on the graduation also! Sending the first one off to college was hard for me. I was not prepared for the emotions. All these years I thought I'd be so ready, after all, I still have 3 kids left at home. Well, I cried like a baby when she left for college.

I wish you well. Graduation is a time of big changes for Mom and Dad, too.
