I'm looking for white or red, possibly blue. Do these exist? I need them to satisfy an OCPhred thang of mine.

The red ones I have seen- but never seen White but they must be available. BUT Colour co-ordinated pedals are a waste of Effort. The only people that will see the colour of them are riders you have just roared past. And what are you worrying about that sort of person for? If you can pass them- They must be 12 years old or 104.

Here's some platforms for ya--The DMR Oxblood color isn't too bad-don't know much about their pedals though.

Are you really planning on buying red or white pedals for the new bike?

Yeah, Crank Brothers Candies come in a bunch of colors. I think the Mallets come in lots of colors, too.

I think Keos come in a variety of colors, come to think about it.

It is perfectly fine to match you pedals to the rest of the bike.

I thought we all agreed we'd reached the age where we could ride what we want, without worrying about what others thought? :D

We must have been drunk to agree to something silly like that. Get you some clipless pedals or get you some toe clips. Platforms are fine for the Cypress, but you owe it to Ruby to treat her like the fine lady she is.

Okay, fine. Point me to some clipless pedals (in white or blue or red, of course) that come with training wheels that whip into position if needed because someone forgot to unclip in time.

Thank you. I'm glad someone else feels that way.

Platform pedals on a Roobay is like putting a funky neon license plate on a Mazorrati.

Here I go actually agreeing with you for once and all the payback you give me is to pimp my spelling.

But it didn't look right, I agree.

Let's try it again: Putting platform pedals of any kind (we'll give you a pass on toe clips for all the retrogrouches out there) on a beautiful road creature such as a Roubaix makes as much sense as putting the Weak Link in charge of a spelling bee, especially after he's been traumatized by aliens who abducted him and, and....::sobbing::

Wellgo made/makes a pedal that goes under the name of MG1 or MG2.(Magnesium). Looked a lot like the ZUZU pedals of an earlier thread. One of the varieties was white. I'll look but if you do some of your own research they may still be available on Ebay.

Too slow.

Wellgo MG-1 in white at Alfred E Bike in Chicago.....$51 with a 9/16 shaft....Fits your bike.

Nice internet shop, had good luck there.

www.aebike.com and they are the nastiest lightest best working platform pedals on the planet.

There's no justice in this world, is there? :(

At least the toe clips are meant for fast road riding, but yeah, clipless pedals would really suit the Roubaix much better.
The Wellgo MG-9 would be a better choice than the MG-1

I don't care what other people think! I'm talking about performance! Wake up my friend, YOU HAVE A REAL BIKE NOW!

Deeg, Deeg, Deeg, you know I'm open-minded. You know I'll try anything once, except incest and folk dancing. But it's like this: Remember when you were in school, and there was this kid who wore pants that were three or four inches too short, and he wore tan bucks (not sneakers) with white socks? And his trousers came up to his chest? The kid wasn't bad, but something about him just didn't quite seem right. You even kinda liked him, but at the same time you didn't want to get too friendly for fear of getting his cooties.

Well, muh man, put red or white platform pedals on your Roubaix, and you become that kid. Sorry, but that's the way it is. I think BluesDawg offers the kind of option that respects the traditions and performance possibilities of road cycling while providing the famous Digital Gee je no sei quois (or however you spell it). Or get some spd pedals and sandals. Or get real road shoes. As zymans says, YOU HAVE A REAL BIKE NOW.

But, hey, it's your life.

DG, if ya want platforms, go for platforms--and that universal cycles link I gave ya has your red, white, blue, green, or hot pink if ya want it!! It's your bike & it's up to you to ride with what suits ya! And I still think you should name it Tuesday (as a name, not wait until Tuesday!).
BTW--Until today, I didn't know that both Specialized and Fuji made a model called Roubaix.

Those Gusset Slim Jim pedals are pimpin'. Wrong colors, though.

I'd still go with the Mallets and ride them without cleats. You can fool some of the people all of the time....

I was just looking for red or white or blue pedals. You didn't specify a price. There are many clipless pedals under $50 a pair, but most are silver or black. You could probably find some low price pedals in red or white.

One LBS I go to has a whole pallet of pink platform pedals. You read that correctly, a pallet box of them. Think they are 1/2 inch spindle though. PM me if interested, sure I can get you a deal if you take all of them.
