Been looking at wheelsets and spotted the
American Classic 420's.
Weighing in at sub 1500 without bladed spokes and 1540 with bladed, I was thinking of getting some.
Anyone know how they perform? I'm light so I shouldn't have issues related to rider weight.

I race and sometimes train on them and have never had any problems. I really think they're great wheels. I also have an AC420/Powertap rear wheel that I have used for about 1,500 miles of training and am yet to have a problem with it either. Again, great wheels IMO.

i have a pair but before buying them there are a few things u should know
racheting noise is not to loud
While they are the Lightest aluminium clincher aerodynamic wheelset a 37mm deep rim offers no aero advantage
American Classic make the best cartridge hubs Ritchey also use American Classic hubs
The cassette body is aluminum meaning that ur cassete will chew it up if the spline protectors (which come included with the wheels) are not put on in my case my LBS did not know how 2 put them on so chucked them out :( latter i found out something about it working fine without spaces if u run 9 speed no idea why?
They Look Great but the stickers are just that with no protective coating and can quite easily start peeling

Great set of wheels.
No problems with peeling stickers if you get the 2007 models, that's all been fixed up.
Very smooth, and pretty light and aerodynamic to boot. Great value.
