Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Winter is long in Norway and it has been a pretty cold May this year. Suddenly summer is here and today there was a record temperature for this time of year of 30.3 centigrades. Tomorrow morning at six o'clock the 600 k brevet for PBP starts. I usually need some time to get used to the heat so I had a really bad day at work today (aches and pains everywhere), and I am a bit worried about cycling in this heat for a full day and more.
The upside of a high pressure is that there will little or no wind.
I'll bring my Visacard so if it goes all bad I will get a room somewhere tomorrow night.

good luck ... I'm going to get some sleep now for my own 600k, which starts in 8 hours. Temperature's supposed to be ok, but there's supposed to be a 60% chance of rain which, as Kent Peterson puts it, usually means that 60% of the route will be covered in rain.

Good luck! I had a similar experience as you ... a cold winter and spring ... and then 30 degrees on my 400K!! Take it easy, drink lots, consume salt, and don't forget the sunscreen.
